The aura of the doll is so appealing to everybody
irrespective of age. The roly-poly bobble-head, colors, beautiful faces, head movement and shapes
of the doll is its uniqueness. The centre of gravity and total weight is
concentrated at the bottom most central part of the doll, thus gives a
continuous dance like moments in oscillation and it comes to its original
position even after being tilted. This doll is only found in Thanjavur district
of Tamilnadu. Thanjavur doll usually resemblance a king and queen to symbolize
the many dynasties that ruled Thanjavur.
